Dingley’s Promise in Worcester

Introducing our Worcester Centre

Dingley’s Promise early years centre in Worcester opens to families in February 2025 and will be providing a specialist enhanced provision for children under 5 with a range of special educational needs and disabilities.

Our dedicated and passionate staff team will work closely with children and families, within a holistic approach to provide a safe, nurturing and supportive space for our families. We will work with a range of external professionals to ensure children’s individual needs are met and take a celebratory approach to learning and development – sharing all children’s successes with their family.

Our intent is to create an inclusive environment for our children where they can have fun and explore a range of diverse activities and opportunities. Each is created to encourage learning across 7 areas of the EYFS and nurture the 8 senses. Children have access to cosy areas, creative areas, malleable resources, sensory and messy play resources as well as books, small world and block play areas, where children can explore freely and learn through play. In addition to our play based approach, we implement our Dingley’s promise curriculum to provide enhancements to children’s play and further extend opportunities for them to learn and grow.

The centre has an outdoor play area which will provide hands on natural experiences with the mud kitchen, loose parts and construction. The outdoor space is accessed all year round, no matter the weather, and children have access to forest school, with staff using these principles to influence outdoor learning opportunities.

Our Worcester Centre

We work alongside the early years inclusion team and area SENCOS to identify children in need of a placement at our enhanced provision.

We work with other early years providers to provide outreach support, share best practice and practical strategies to help meet the needs of SEND children in mainstream provision.

Our focus is on breaking barriers and overcoming challenges that children with SEND may face.

Our Worcester Centre Provides:

  • Forest School trained manager with principles of forest school influencing outdoor learning opportunities.
  • Collaborative working with external professionals such as speech and language therapists, physiotherapists and occupational therapies. Hosting these professions and implementing strategies in session for individual children’s needs.
  • Family support workers who are able to offer holistic support at home and a wide range of opportunities at the centre including stay & play sessions & coffee mornings, building a network of families sharing lived experiences and helping to improve support for families.

Early Years SEND Support Worcester

At Dingley’s Promise, we support children in the early years with SEND to achieve their full potential. For parents and teachers, we provide additional support, working closely with families to understand their unique challenges and barriers.

Through our specialised practices, we aim to:

  • Develop greater inclusion and enable more children with SEND to access mainstream settings.
  • Help families access the appropriate support services for their child’s needs, such as working with our family support workers.
  • Ensure every child with special needs transitions into the best educational setting for them. We value the importance of early identification and diagnosis criteria, enabling us to create tailored EHC Plans for each child.
  • Seek excellence in our specialist early years intervention.

Understanding the needs of our early years children has never been more important. From perfecting motor skills to deepening emotional engagement, every child must be supported in reaching their full potential. That’s why we’ve tailored SEND support services to fulfil the specific needs of our early years children. We actively promote collaboration through SEN support groups, where families can connect, share experiences, and provide mutual encouragement. Our commitment to working with families and offering a nurturing environment makes us a trusted partner in every child’s early learning journey.

We value the importance of understanding areas of difficulty as well as creating targeted interventions and activities to overcome them. With this approach, we ensure that our youngest learners are equipped with the necessary tools to reach their highest potential.
